Blog Entry: GOD IS FAITHFUL (RELIABLE, TRUSTWORTHY, AND THEREFORE EVER TRUE TO HIS PROMISE, AND HE CAN BE DEPENDED ON); BY HIM YOU WERE CALLED INTO COMPANIONSHIP AND PARTICIPATION WITH HIS SON, JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD. 1 CORINTHIANS 1:9   There are times you just can't see through the darkness that seems to be closing in around you.  It is in those times of endurance and patience that your faith is stretched and you learn to trust God even when you can't hear His voice.   You can grow in your confidence level to the point where "knowing" is even better than "hearing."  You may not know what to do, but it is sufficient to know the one who does know.  Everyone likes specific directions; however, when you don't have it, knowing God is faithful and ever true to His promise, and that He has promised to be with us always, is comforting and keeps us stable until His timing comes to illuminate the situation. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ FOR WE (CHRISTIANS) ARE THE TRUE CIRCUMCISION, WHO WORSHIP GOD IN SPIRIT AND BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD AND EXULT AND GLORY AND PRIDE OURSELVES IN JESUS CHRIST, AND PUT NO CONFIDENCE OR DEPENDENCE (ON WHAT WE ARE) IN THE FLESH AND ON OUTWARD PRIVILEGES AND PHYSICAL ADVANTAGES AND EXTERNAL APPERANCES.    PHILIPPIANS  3:3   Self-confidence is the buzzword of today's culture.  Society proclaims a basic need to believe in oneself and that you need to feel good if your are ever going to accomplish anything in life.  Too many believe that lie.    Many people spend their lives climbing the ladder of success only to reach the top and discover their ladder was propped against the wrong building.  Others strive to perform perfectly, only to endure repeated failures.  The result is always the same -- emptiness and misery.   You don't need to believe in yourself -- you need to believe in Jesus in you. You do not need self- confidence. You need God-confidence! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LET US NOT BECOME VAINGLORIOUS AND SELF-CONCEITED, COMPETITIVE AND CHALLENGING AND PROVOKING AND IRRITATING TO ONE ANOTHER, ENVYING AND BEING JEALOUS OF ONE ANOTHER.  GALATIANS  5:26   In Galatians 6:4  the apostle Paul exhorts you to grow in the Lord until you come to the point you can have the personal satisfaction and joy of doing something commendable in itself along without resorting to boastful comparison with other people.    Thank God, once you know who you are in Christ, you are set free from the stress of comparison and competition.  You know you have worth and value apart from your works and accomplishments.  Therefore you can do your best to glorify God, rather than just trying to be better than someone else.  What a glorious, wonderful freedom to be secure in Christ and not have to be controlled by strife, envy, or jealousy.  You can be who God created you to be!  He doesn't make mistakes! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ COME TO ME, ALL YOU WHO LABOR AND ARE HEAVY-LADEN AND OVERBURDENED, AND I WILL CAUSE YOU TO REST. ( I WILL EASE AND RELIEVE AND REFRESH YOUR SOULS. )  MATTHEW 11:28   Many people today are stressed out beyond anything a human being was ever meant to endure.  Every person is different, uniquely created by God's design.  What is complicated for one may be simple for another.  Don't compare yourself with other people.  But when faced with a problem or difficult circumstance you must ask youself, "What would Jesus have me do in this situation? How would He handle it?   Jesus was not stressed out or burned out.  He was not controlled by circumstances or the demands of other people.  In John 14:6, Jesus said, "I am the Way."  His way is the right way -- the way that will lead you into righteousness, peace, and joy.  Jesus prayed that His enjoyment would fill your soul, and it will when you learn to take His approach to life and its many different challenges.
