Only 4 years!!!

The other day I picked up 13 yr old from his dads house. He rode up on his 4-wheeler and something happened in me...I realized he wasn't a little kid anymore. He looked so big and grown up on his 4-wheeler!!! I cannot explain the feeling I got when I saw him, it was a mixture of pride and sadness. Pride that he looked so big and strong and sadness because I realized at that moment that I don't have much time until he could possibly be out of the house.

I started evaluating our time at home as a family. I wondered am I doing my best as a parent? Am I really making an impact on him for the future? Am I helping him to become all that I hope for him? Am I being a parent that he can look back on and feel a since of pride? I want to make the best of it and make great memories for my children. Childhood certainly does go by quickly and I want to cherish every moment!!!
