Date Night

Do you do a "date night" with your kids?

I've always heard that kids really enjoy spending one on one time with their parents and think it sounds like a great idea. We haven't taken the time to do it. With our growing family I think that all the kids would enjoy some one on one time with us.

What are your experiences with this?

Growing up, we never really had a "date night" with either of our parents, but sometimes, my dad would take me for a ride on the motorcycle and we'd go get ice cream or something random like that.  That was always fun for me.  A bunch of my friends' dads rode motorcycles too so it was fun when a big group of us would go for a ride and for ice cream.

How about the importance of having date nights w/o the kids?  We're all set to have a date w/o the baby Friday night and my parents are going to watch her.  We're pretty tight on money right now, so our date will be renting a movie (which we just got a coupon in the mail for a free movie rental) and making dinner together at our house.  And we're going to dress up like we're going out on a date.  It'll be fun.  I'm excited!
