My goal is 18 mo. My daughter's pediatrician told me that children who have been breastfed for 18 mo. have tested higher IQs than children who have been breastfed for 12 mo. She's nearly 14 mo. now and I'm about ready to be done. But I committed myself to 18 mo. so I'm gonna do it.

With my first I bf'd until he was just about 11.5 months old. I found out that I was pregnant again and was exhausted and just couldn't fo it any longer. I vowed to do it until his teeth came in and that all happened about the same time. This time I'm hoping everything goes as smoothly and we make it that long!

I haven't thought about how long I plan to breastfeed. I guess as long as my little girl don't start biting me when her teeth come in. She's 4 and a half months now.
